My prayers go out to the families.

I had the privilege of talking to the Columbia Astronauts a few years ago. C-Span actually linked up a line for calls. I asked them a question and wished them well.

We will be praying in church for the families tomorrow.

Texas is weeping for Commander Husband from Amarillo and Pilot McCool from Lubbock who died high over our sacred ground, serving their country as they had done throughout their lives. Rest in peace. You are added to our long list of heroes.

I just relized that the shuttle commander Rick Husband, was a squadron mate of mine at Moody AFB in the mid 80's. I got to fly with him a couple of times while I was Flight Surgeon for the 70th Tac Fighter Squadron which had F-4E's at that time . I remember him as a quiet guy who was very devoted to his wife and kids. A sad sad day for this former "White Knight".
