I still doubt that this is the cause of this mornings events.

The leading edge of the wing is not located near the gear door. Another posting in this thread reported that tire pressure gauges were reading problems just prior to the breakup.

Gear doors are not near the leading edge of the vehicle.

I'm sure more info will be coming in as to the actual chain of events leading up to the disaster......but clearly small problems can have huge consequences at the tremendous speeds they were traveling.
