I understand the rationale for allowing DU postings here, but I for one do not care to muddy my mind with them. This tragedy is too important and heart-rending to even give them one second of consideration.

I cannot imagine the grief level of the families and all those who knew the astronauts personally.

God give them comfort as we all share in that grief. And may God give our President the strength and ability to comfort a grieving nation.

My daughter clipped a newspaper article a couple days before Columbia took off that said they had found a cracked metal ball in the fuel line of Discovery. They checked all the other shuttles EXCEPT Columbia because it was already on the launch pad.

I'll look for it on the paper's website and post it here if I find it.......
