Federal Judge William Young, thank you.<!ENDSUMM!>
The life sentence imposed on Richard Reid, terrorist and would-be killer of 197 passengers and crew on an American Airlines transatlantic flight, was expected yesterday in the federal judge's courtroom. Reid's disgusting anti-American tirade and religious justifications were also no surprise.
But unexpectedly, the well-respected, soft-spoken Young strongly rebuked Reid's claim to being engaged in a war with our country, and gave voice to all Americans' determination to bring terrorism to its knees.
``You are not a soldier in any war. You are a terrorist. We are not afraid of you or any of your terrorist co-conspirators. We are Americans, we have been through the fire before,'' Young said.
And of a terrorist's fate, Young added, ``We hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice.''
A flight attendant, Cristina Jones, who helped subdue Reid as he was trying to light a bomb hidden in his shoe spoke of the lost innocence of her 8-year-old son who feared for his mother's safety after Sept. 11 and was further traumatized by the Reid episode. Another crew member said she could still picture the fear in the faces of passengers, including 20 children, who witnessed Reid's aborted attempt to kill them.
Children's lost innocence cannot be regained, but Young gave them - and us - a gift in its place by affirming the power of courage and decency and freedom in the face of terrorism's evil.
Both Lopez and Reid are deserving of our highest contempt.

HERO
Chief Judge William Young, First Circuit: "We are not afraid of any of your terrorist co-conspirators, Mr. Reid ...
"Youre a big fellow. But youre not that big. Youre no warrior. I know warriors....
You are a terrorist, a species of criminal guilty of multiple attempted murders."
To call you a soldier gives you far too much stature. You are a terrorist, and we do not negotiate with terrorists.
We hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice. ...
"See that flag, Mr. Reid? That is the flag of the United States of America That flag will fly there long after this is long forgotten."

In Los Angeles, US District Judge Robert Takasugi of Los Angeles issued a preliminary
injunction blocking enforcement of the US citizenship requirement for airport guards.
ZEROES:
In Washington, US Federal Circuit Appellate Judges Clevenger, Friedman and Prost
turn an Appeal proving throttling of the US Constitution and USA energy security.by the US Patent Office.
The Court dumbly and inaccurately purported that measuring energy output has "no utility" for the USA
even as the USA is at War and needs energy sources.
To cover it up, Amicus Curiae were gagged who would have testified that the Patent Office misquoted them.
[Meanwhile, the US Patent Office under Q. Todd Dickenson issued patents using
astrology to predict lottery numbers, claiming they have unique "operability" and "utility"]
ZEROES:
In San Francisco, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals says in Silviera v. Lockyer,
that "the Second Amendment does not confer an individual right to own or possess arms."
Of course not, that's why its not included in the Bill of Rights, right? (/sarcasm)
That is actually a bad thing, IMHO. Proof that the judge (will not give him a capital J) relied on an erroneous and fraudulent source in formulating his decision would be an excellent argument for reversal.
BUMP!
