Yeah... great article, but the Clintons still run the dem saloon in Washington.
The Wellstone/dem gala killed Mondale. Carnahan killed herself, she was a hermit.
The Clintons wanted Cuomo Jr. in NY. When they got McCall, they turned their back on him. No money.
Make no mistake, the Clintons still call the plays.
Among democrats, HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON is most popular!

(Exit polls see Bill Clinton as the winner! -1992.)

You're quite right, they are not gone. They have not ever been affected by the ridicule, the scorn, the abuse heaped upon them, because there apparently is an unshakeable core constituency that cannot see the true depravity of the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001" or his venomous viper of a spouse. This core constituency has access to money, influence, and a reservoir of class distinctions that they have played like a violin, and which still resonates with many of the relative uninformed and mostly uncommitted swing voters. Truth is, that neither the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001" or his venomous viper of a spouse could win an honest election based only on a two-person race, but have relied on the presence of a third or fourth person in the race to dilute and obscure the issues (neither of them could articulate precisely what they stand for anyway) and expect to be winning on a plurality. That is, in places where there was not outright vote fraud.
