We have changed the city council's mind on a couple of their "big spender" ideas when enough people spoke out against what they wanted to do.
We haven't had a problem with the city passing any laws restricting gun rights here, state law prevents it. Two years ago the county passed an ordnance banning guns in county buildings, it is vague, and poorly written, there is some wording about people with CCW permits, which indicates that we are exempt, so we ignore it.
I hope it does pass. You need to get this lady to testify before the Senate, her parents were killed in the Lubys Restaurant massacre in Texas, it was illegal to carry concealed then, she left her gun in the car. She got herself elected to the Texas House of Representatives, and got a concealed law passed. I have heard her speak, there isn't a dry eye in the house when she is finished.
