There are various estimates, and people who claim take the lowest one and make an assumption for ANWR to supply all the oil for the nation. There is also a estimates of the total oil ( "in place") vs. the oil that could easily and cheaply be recovered with today's technology. The anti-drill people take the lowest estimate of the lower figure range, not giving any allowances for technology development or that there is a range. The economic feasibility also depends on the price of the oil.
Also we could substitute the oil we get from Saudi for 20-50 years.
