No, just take a look at the voting records of the people in question. I'm not being logically contradictory; I'm ridiculing your idiotic premise that the people signing these letter are somehow non-comformists when, in fact, they are the biggest conformists *out there*. I'm saying, this is not Powell vs. Rumsfeld, which is a debate I can respect. I *know* the reasons behind the motivations of the people signing this letter (and agree with the poster who said we might as well sit it out and wait until it comes back to bite them on the rump :p).

To say that going against your party is conformist is inaccurate at least.
Some of them do have other adjendas besides trying to do the right thing but sometimes doing the right thing means voting against your party. When that is the motivation it is free thinking and patriotic whichever party that comes from.
Drilling anwar now is not a good idea. I'm glad that they blocked it even if their motivations aren't pure.
