Who says they weren't real? A parable is not the same thing as a fable. A PARable is a story to comPARe something with another, usually an earthly story to express a spiritual truth.

Ah yes, the expected hellfire and brimstone rants of the "saved". Interesting that Jesus resorted to logic and genuine discourse ("Let us reason together") as opposed to using the all-too-familiar 2x4. It never ceases to amaze me that those who call themselves by the Lord's name confront non-believers and their issues with an in-your-face, I'm-much-better-than-you-are attitude.
