Why would Scott wait until 9:30am to leave the house?...take that long to clean up and prepare plan or what?

The 9:30 time leads me to believe that if he DID kill her, it was that morning, not the night before. Why would you wait til the whole world is up to get rid of a body if you could have done it under cover of darkness?
