There's a good "back-alley boob job" joke in this story somewhere...

"Going to get cosmetic surgery at someone's house certainly is not a good idea."Understatement of the day!

What really shut them down was the prohibitive cost of Frankenstein clinic malpractice insurance.

Frankenboob alert!

One would think that a woman going in for breast surgery would have some kind of alarm go off when led into a private home, but then we ARE talking about MASS, aren't we?

Oh no...I expect we will soon hear the hew and cry for a constitutional right to home boob jobs, so as to make them safe, legal, and rare.

Yes, the victims should sue for malpractice. That'll put a stop to this sort of thing.
(Do you suppose the trial lawyers will come to the rescue? I guess, it depends on how much cash can be milked from the system.)

"The pair were released after their arraignment Monday in Lowell District Court."This is the scariest part of the whole story. I had to re-read this again, at first I though this occured in some third world country.

I ordered a home liposuction kit once. I was a little disappointed when it was delivered. It was a razor blade and a long straw. I don't think it's safe.

Yuck. The local cable access channel has a "cosmetic surgery" program that shows how low esteem losers can have their stomach, face, breasts, and/or buttocks done over. It is grotesque.

I keep reading from Freepers that the solution to high medical costs is to provide licenses to anyone who wants to be a doc, that the AMA is conspiring to keep the numbers of docs down (as if the AMA is highly effective at representing the interests of doctors)...why not issue these bright young immigrants a shiny new libertarian medical license?
