Some things are just so obvious. Just the other day a coworker was complaining about Bush and the war and I said something to the effect of at least he wasn't making critical decisions while getting BJ's in the oval office. This person defends Clinton by saying to me that they all cheat and that he's getting them somewhere and that it is easy to put up a good front.

How do you respond to that kind of stupidity? It is so obvious from the way he looks at Laura that he is very much in love with his wife. It is also very obvious, that whether his decisions are right or wrong, he is absolutely devoted to his country. I said something back to her to the effect of how little faith she had in mankind. I had to let it drop or I would have found myself in a very unpleasant altercation with a whole bunch of Rats. Sometimes, they seem like normal and reasonably intelligent people, and then they open their mouths about politics and you wonder how many of them are sharing one brain.

You tell them this: That the only reason the cynic believes that "everyone does it" is because the cynic does it, and cannot bear to live with the idea that other people may not be as degenerate as he.
