I was breaking in a brand new forwarder in the woods. Jumped out to have a cuppa coffee and turned the radio on and heard it. Told a guy that was in the pick up next to me that any idiot who would send a roman candle like that up on a cold day like that should expect a good thrashing for doing it.

Yes, it was too cold that day. But, it was just a matter of time. It happened sooner than the odds would have it, but it is bound to happen now and then. It will happen again, maybe not the same way. It is inherently a dangerous thing to do, riding rockets into space. If they had wanted to launch another Space Shuttle the next day, there would have been no shortage of volunteers, even with the obvious risk.
