I was so happy to read the good remarks here about taking care of those animals.

I know I'm wrong, but I'd rather see medical experiments done on paedophiles, serial killers, etc. Those innocent animals have never hurt anybody, but violent offenders sure have. About time retribution was made.

I don't think you're wrong. It would give those vile people one last shred of hope of making some small positive contribution to humanity before they die. I think it would be a perfectly reasonable alternative to the death penalty -- once sentenced to death, give the condemned the option of giving up their status as human beings, in exchange for remaining alive, and being fed and caged as lab animals. It's more than they deserve.
