Daley Attacks Your Privacy (Yes, even if you don't live in Illinois)

Daley and his gun grabbing goons stepped up their attacks on law-abiding gun owners this week.
In arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court this week, Daley's attorney, Larry Rosenthal, claimed that the public has a right to know who owns firearms.
The Supreme Court will be hearing an appeal of Chicago's suit against the ATF in which Chicago is demanding copies of all 4473s filed since 1992. If Chicago prevails in this suit, it will mean that anyone, including gang banger, gun grabbers, and crooked cops, can get copies of all 4473s filled out at the time a gun is purchased.

(And you wonder some of us are disappointed in the NRA?) Please note the NRA is involved in the case. That said the E-Mail reply was flippant. Clearly the NRA spokesperson didn't bother to look at the facts (or she would have known the NRA had taken a position). Not a good way to attract new members.

I have a bumper sticker on my truck. It states "All those in favor of gun control raise your right hand." This is next to a picture of Hitler with his silly form of "salute".
Just below that I have a quote from Hitler. I'm doing this from memory, so please forgive any slight mistake; the meaning will be there.
"For the first time in history a 'civilized' nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more effective, and the world will follow us into the future."

why is there no armed resistance to this. Why are there public deomstrations in the streetsYou have to remember that Il is very hostile to freedom, and that Chicago is at the core of this freedom hating mentality. Remember that Moron's Grove passed a total gun ban in the 70's.
The people have been conditioned one small step at a time toward accepting totalitarianism. It starts easily enough with something like a one gun a month limit (and you think I only purchase a gun every couple of years - I can live with that) Then another thing gets added like biometric data on your driver's license (this isn't really like tattooing my number on my arm) and then another like making you wear a yellow Star of David on your arm (or get a foid card), and before you know it you are marching to the selektion process with Daily's armed smirking thugs to make sure you march in an orderly line to the showers. And even then the people think - this isn't happening to me I didn't break any laws - I have nothing to be afraid of.

I have to drive through that town all the time since I am a truck driver. Often to get home to Milwaukee I have to go through downtown in morning rush hour. I am so sick and tired of people mis-spelling the name. It is spelled SHITCAGO! Please correct this error in the future. Thank you in advance.

Those police here that would refuse to confiscate a firearm from a law abiding citizen are NOT police in SHITCAGO! That area isn't even IL, and should be declared it's own state. Even better, it's own nation so that we can declare war against it!

LOL! Its the law? The govt is a law unto itself. Even if they lose in court they'll still continue to disobey.
Case in pt. Its illegal for the ATF to make a list of gun owners but thats exactly what they're doing...in total disregard for the law.

"I keep waiting for the new stories saying that the police refused to confiscate someone's firearms because that would be unconstitutional."
Ah, a little comedy mixed in huh? :^) Oh, Id wait with breath held. Hope ya knock your head on the way down. :^)
"All I hear is silence."
Thats b/c they're a protected class. They agreed to roll over if the pols exempt them from the various unconstitutional gun laws. It only dawns on their rather thick heads when they retire just what they agreed to. As a 'civilian' they're just like us. Oh the whining and nashing of teeth. I don't feel one bit bad for them. They SOLD OUT and are not better than suckups to their pol masters. This same tactic worked so well for the Nazis. They made sure to arm the protected classes so the Little People wouldnt get uppity and out of line.
To be fair though there will be a VERY small number who refuse, who really love the Consitution and will uphold it despite the law. My hats off to you b/c it wont be easy.
'Where are all of the posters who insist that the police are here to protect us. '
Asleep as usual. Dont worry though some will wakeup just in time to witness their demise. Some will never get a clue.
'For that matter where are the police posters - I know there are a few on this forum - who say that they'd never follow such a blatantly unamerican order. '
As above...life is fun when you're of the protected class.

Unfortunately, the simple fact is that the current political atmosphere in Illinois leaves gun owners in a very difficult position. Not to mention taxpayers and decent citizens.

What is the difference? LA, Seattle, DC? All Socialist strongholds.
Any cop who stands on pricipal, and has the guts to take a chance will probably be able to find a better position in another town pretty fast. The only real difficulty will be that he will have to move. But, a cop seriously interested in helping people will be thinking about getting out of such areas to begin with!

The people in Chicago are getting the government they want. I'm through shedding tears for the place after I got out.
How much money should the NRA pour down that rathole anyway?
As far as the "Our Lady of Peace" Act, The NRA should have stayed out of that. It passed and all the other gun groups combined didn't stop it. The NRA was able to get a "no cost' clause written to it but it's still a bad law.

The only way to retain your legally-acquired firearms will be by having inherited them.
They obviously plan to get them with Nazi-style house-to-house sweeps.
Time to cache 'em, gents.

No, I dont think theyll let you inherit...unless youre one of the protected classes.
"They obviously plan to get them with Nazi-style house-to-house sweeps.'
You should read 'Death by Gun Control'.. they cover this topic in great detail. It sounds alot like whats happening in various places here.
'Time to cache 'em, gents'
Allow me to offer a different view...its time to get them out for ready use.

Milwaukee? You mean the home of the openly-avowed socialist mayor for life of a few years back, Henry Maier? In a state that is far left of Illinois in virtually every area.
Yeah, you have plenty of reason to slap Chicago around coming from that cultural mecca. LoL.

I've believed ever since the implementation of the Brady bill that there's a little dumpy guy with a bad combover somewhere in some gov't building with a vault of records - tapes, disks, or whatever - with all the purchase records collected since then.
Believe a fedgov promise? No way in hell. Even if they were sincere, which they aren't, they'd find a reason to renege.

Legally disarmed - I imagine there are a lot of them who break the law, but it ain't the same.
Let's look at Brady's rating of Ill
Allows cities to impose additional restrictions
Private sale background checks - foid card needed for private firearms purchases
prohibits concealed carry
foid card required for ANY firearm or ammo purchase
Chicago - "assault weapon" ban
Mortons Grove (Chi suburb) - total ban on gun ownership since mid '70s
Warrantless sweeps of public housing to confiscate any drugs and guns found.
Yeah, the citizens in Daily's Reich are just armed to the teeth no doubt.
