LA riots make the OSU riots look like child play....
In LA you might as well let crap burn to the ground, its their crap...
OSU campus, its impressionable drunk rich kids with something to lose. In LA, its hopeless.

It isn't hopelessness that causes riots in LA, the riot is just an excuse to burn, pillage and steal. The riot is cover for these activities.

Its hopelessness because no one cares...they let their little cities burn until they get tired and then go pour water on the fire. Like I said, they destroy their own crap. The riot is caused by people who want to burn pillage and steal which is from hopelessness. If you have hope, then you dont need to pillage and steal...

The entire Super Bowl is hyped and "show-bizzed" waaaaaay out of proportion. I tune in to see who will win the game. I don't tune in for Shaina Twain, Sting, Celine, Dixie Chicks, an upside down clown etc. I liked Super Bowl I --- a game and maybe a marching band at half-time PERIOD! Everything else is crapola.

I don't tune in for Shaina Twain, Sting, Celine, Dixie Chicks, an upside down clown etc.I saw the Super Bowl yesterday and wasn't sure if I tuned into a rock concert or a football game. I mean, they had Santana just before the game, the artists you mentioned at halftime and then a washed-up Bon Jovi after the game. They actually had John Gruden and the Buccaneers cooling their heels after the game so that Bon Jovi could finish their first set before being presented with the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Unbelievable!
It does seem that the fans care more about the outcome of the game then even the players themselves. After the game, the Raiders players were smiling and congratulating the Buccaneers. I'm sure the Raiders were disappointed they didn't win but it didn't ruin their lives or anything. They are still going to get a nice payday out of it, win or lose. Evidently some of the Oakland fans have such empty lives that this loss has given them nothing to live for. Very sad.

The game was too boring to be the cause behind the riots.

I am no fan of law suits, but I would support one by the victims of the Oakland riots, citing the football industry. That industry, including the teams, the sports casters, and the promoters all conspire to hype up this game well beyond its true importance. They play on the emotions of the weak, and the minds of the foolish; making them think that the outcome of a game played by millionaires is actually important to their lives. Uh-huh...blame the football industry for the rioting! That kind of logic fits with blaming firearms for murders; blaming the fast-food industry for fat folks; blaming alcohol industry for DUI fatalities on the highway; blaming God for life's inequities...

It's not just Oakland. I think it was Cincicnatti recently that had riots over a college game. Things are just out of control with all the hype and promos!

No, in this case the hype brought on by the football industry, intentionally, brings people of weak minds to think that this game is actually something important to their lives.

So let's sue Madison Avenue advertising agencies? Better yet, let's sue teachers for producing those weak minds? Let's make every imaginable entity responsible, save the vandalizing hooligans who actually did the damage!

Sure, why not? They are doing that to the tobacco companies, gun manufacturers, and fast food chains. If nothing else, if BIG FOOTBALL is targeted, we might see an end to this foolishness.
As far as the rioters, I think it is time to stop using rubber bullets!

It seems that in this nation, football has become the opiate of the masses. People get all wound up over this game, use up all their emotion and energy and have none left to worry about important things, like the amount of money they earn that is confiscated by the government, or protesters who insist that we leave ourselves vulnerable to more terrorist attacks by allowing a terrorist regime to continue its search for nuclear materials. Nor do they have the energy to stand up against the eco-nuts who want to take away our freedoms and property. They are too busy getting hyped up for a game, or rioting after the game, or looking forward to the next game. Keep 'em distracted with sports, celebrities, music, and shopping. It's working wonderfully, isn't it?

I concur (about rubber bullets) and would start here:

Maybe we should all blame the government public schools for turning out such morons as these rioters.
