a strong desire to read anything by Noam Chomsky

Is he all they have? What's up with the Noam fetish? (My theory is that it's the name)

At 24 I was just like this kid. I read Chomsky, I read Edward Said, I read Ramsey Clark, I read Jim Hightower... I also read Molly Ivins, Gloria Steinem, Naomi Wolf, Virginia Woolf, Women who RUN with the Wolves (well I read a little of it)...

The Axis of Sanity that saved me were Florence King, Ayn Rand, and Free Republic. Yes really. If you want to save this boy, you can either go the Christian route with C.S. Lewis, or the Objectivist route with Ayn Rand. Rand hit me like a bucket of cold water and the spell was broken. After that it was only a matter of time before I hunted up Milton Friedman, Dinesh D'Souza, David Horowitz, etc... Good luck.

No fetish. Noam is generally regarded as the most quoted author in the world. Woody Allen even wrote a short story about a guy who quotes Noam, like a poet, in order to get laid. Noam also thinks Castro is pretty cool because he eliminated prostitution in Cuba, except for that segment that services high ranking party members.

Stupid political decisions— like voting for Ralph Nader—

Bless them Father for they know not what they do.

But that's how we got Bush instead of Gore!!
