I have never read those books about Martha or watched her on TV. The first I ever heard of her was when my husband bought me her pie cookbook years ago. The recipes where good but I hated her instantly because of her condescending attitude that came thru. You know she had a large staff working for her but she made it sound like she did everything alone. At the time I lived in a big house in the country with acreage. I was always tired & never seemed to finish the house, the yard, the kids. No one could do what Martha seemed to be doing (growing the apples to make the pie etc. after first painting & remodeling the kitchen) She gave no credit to anyone. I used her recipes but I hated Martha because "she" was a fraud.
