MOSQUE RAID CHARGE
One of seven men arrested after a raid on a mosque has been charged with an offence under the Terrorism Act.
Samir Asli, 29, was charged with possessing articles for terrorist purposes following the raid at Finsbury Park Mosque, north London last Monday, Scotland Yard said. Asli, a North African of St Thomas Road, north London, was charged under section 57 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
He will appear at London's Bow Street Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Detained
He was detained after an operation involving 150 police officers at the mosque, where the controversial cleric Abu Hamza preaches.
A 31-year-old north African man is still being questioned over terrorism related offences.
A total of seven men were arrested following the raid.
Two north African men, aged 48 and 38, were released under the Terrorism Act on Saturday but they are still being held over alleged immigration offences.
CS gas
On Thursday detectives said a further three of the men were no longer suspected of involvement in terrorism.
A 40-year-old was released under the Terrorism Act and then re-arrested for alleged possession of a CS gas canister and immigration offences. He remains in custody.
A 22-year-old eastern European man was also released under the Act but was re-arrested and held in custody over alleged immigration matters.
A 23-year-old north African man was released with no further action by police.
Chemical warefare suits and such from what I've read. Out of curiosity, are law abiding Brits allowed to posess these things?
No, they are a Jim Jones cult that was never checked and was allowed to murder, rape and force-convert millions over hundreds of years.
