As to your comment on the Inspectors; I’ve heard them referred to as the Key-Stone Cops, a bunch of Inspector Cloussous, even as Laurel and Hardy bunch. From my view living in the Southwestern US, they could not collectively find a Soiled Dove in a Nevada Gentlemen's Sporting House.
