Class warfare said not to be working for Democrats

The White House and its Republican allies say they do not believe the Democrats' class-warfare attacks against tax cuts for upper-income earners carry the political firepower they once did.

Even some Democratic officials argue that such attacks by their party's leaders, pitting lower- to middle-income groups against the rich, do not work and have not worked for several election cycles.

"...they represent the wealthy elite with a guilty conscience"

Boy, is that ever the truth. In reality, liberalism is the ideology of the american elite. Conservativism is the ideology of the american middle class.

As an undergrad at an ivy league university, I was confronted immediately with that dreaded species that inhabits the northeast: limousine liberals. The school was filled with spoiled rich kids who mouthed a pile of socialist garbage.

I spent a long time pondering this phenomenon (I was one of the most conservative students there...but I was also of a much more modest background than most of the lefties).

My own theory is this: these kids grow up with an enormous material prosperity that they haven't earned themselves. They see others in society with far less. As a result, they begin to feel guilty.

Now...there are two possible paths for them to take at this juncture:

1) Honest: Simply refuse to take the handouts from daddy. They can decide that they will make it on their own in life and not spend the rest of their lives sponging off of their daddies' wealth.

2) Dishonest: These are the ivy league liberals. They feel guilty that they live in a lap of luxury that they haven't earned themselves...but they lack the honesty to pass on all of the goodies. So, in their subconscious, they decide that its OK to take the goodies--despite the fact that they are unearned--so long as they mouth slogans and ideologies that show compassion for the "poor". Their ideological convictions become a moral permission slip for them to enjoy fabulous unearned wealth.

The democrat party is the party of the elites, the so-called silk stocking socialists. They throw a few scraps of meat to the urban poor to buy their votes.

"Rinse. Repeat."

Absolutely! The dims have nothing to offer, they wouldn't recognise a new idea if it kicked them in the @ss. Even their rhetoric is worn out, hitlery paraphrasing Churchill and edwards (that ambulance chaser) rolling out the old duck line-hey johnny "quack-quack".

And dashal's economic plan is a flat out laugher. Let's give everybody a check, whether they paid taxes or not, and let's "target" taxcuts for businesses so they do what we think they should do. We'll create a new market out of thin air. Lame, absolutely lame.

I'm voting for Al Brawley, er Sharpton.

The Republicans have done a better job of communicating that the working people get a tax cut and that anyone who works is considered "rich" by the Democrats.

I feel their pain. My wife and I are in the same boat except we don't have any children yet - trying though...

This is not what America is supposed to be like. America was never like this (from what I have been told by my parents and grandparents). This common scenario has only come into existence since the left wing has infiltrated our various levels of government. Government has grown at an alarming rate while the middle class gives-up it's resources via taxes to pay for this growth.

Big government can't afford tax cuts, so we are supposed to pay for ever growing, bloated government spending. The politicians tell us that if we cut taxes we will lose necessary services like education, healthcare and police. This is nonsense. These services make up only a part of government spending that would not have to be cut.

The politicians are living the lifestyles normally enjoyed by wealthy Americans while normal Americans are continually forced to tighten their belts and make do with less. This is not sustainable. We have to flush out these big government parasites from our institutions and replace them with real Americans.

"Never in the field of economics have so few been given so much at the expense of so many," Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton...

She can analyze the history of economics yet took years to locate a box of billing records?

....pitting lower- to middle-income groups against the rich, do not work and have not worked for several election cycles.

That's because the income necessary to be define by the Democrats as "rich" is the income generated by a two income family with solid middle class jobs.

The Democrats are urging Americans to wage class warfare on the dreams they have for their own children.

Since the richest 1% are the enemy maybe the Demoncraps would be happier if all "rich" people were made to wear some identifying insignia. Let's see...The Star of David's been used. Maybe the sign of Ayn Rands rebels would be appropriate.

There is another tax you forgot. When your kids get to college they will NOT BE ELGIBLE for any of the grant money (that means free) such as the Pell Grant. You (and I) will pay and pay and pay.

With Hispanics ( dumb word ) now the leading minority, even race is going to fail them.

Most hispanics I know.... (like all my family) find Hispanic a joke and laugh about the grouping. Do they mean Hispanic like er.... uh.... illiterate immigrants from the mountains of Chile or Peru... or farmers from El Salvador or Guatamala, or doctors and business owners who fled Cuba, or urbananites from Puerto Rico...via New York or ... Mexican laborers from Chiapas, Parras or Saltio..

the group classification is a joke. but that shouldn't stop the Dumbasocrats from lumping us together. Most of the immigrants on the border want jobs... they are just like everybody else.. want to feed the kids and aren't parasites... however the "sytem" uses them and then they in turn have learned to use the system. Ag businesses and others use the federal/state governments to subsidize the health care insurance for the workers...

....if the US was serious about illegal alien workers... fine of $20,000 per worker, make it federal and minumum mandatory of $5,000.00 for illegal worker even if good faith attempts at documenting status. Jail time for repeat offenders...

Then the private sector would have a vested interest in documenting workers.... and Zoe Baird and other Shi'ite spewing libs that have gardners, maids and nannies would have to pay for their hypocrisy.

Did I not read the other day that they (the Democrats) are now the wealthiest people in the world and, the Republicans are mostly common folks?

A few weeks back I read some stats on donations to each party. Off of the top of my head it was someting like this:

Average donation to Dems was well over $1,000.00 with a significan portion of total donations being in excess of $10,000.

Average donation to the Republicans was in the area of $250.00. Yet the Republicans raised more money and had a larger number of donors.

The stats tend to confirm your above statements.

If somebody has the real figures please add them, to correct my statement.

Frankly, I loathe the PC term " Hispanics " ( and find it stupid, in the extreme ), used mainly by dim Dems, for a completely disparitat group of peoples. That being said, I was merely quoting the latest stats, which used this terminology. The South American meztiso, has about as much in common, with the first Cuban professionals, who fled Castro, as they do with any number of other Spainish speakers.

As for the rest of your post, we're on the same page.

I'm not feeling sorry for him at all.

(There, now we disagree again. All is indeed right with the world.)
