the police believe Scott's 'burglary' was done by a family member

This is gonna' get interesting. I still remember all the speculation about Condidit's trashy brother Daryl during the Chandra threads.

SP has already contacted a realtor about selling the house!!

I would imagine SP needs the money. I don't know, but I would imagine he has not been working lately. His employer has probably already or about to sever ties with him.

SP is probably experienceing financial pressure, along with guilt (about murdering his wife), and confusion, and a bit of panic!

And who was saying about can't prosecute on the evidence without the findings of Laci?

Also there was the mother and son grifters ... Sante and Kenneth Kimes who where indicted and convicted for the disappearnace of that older wealthy woman in New York. Her body was never found as well as a number of other people who disappeared who knew these two.

That means any arrests that the Modesto police are contemplating won't be made until after the tests results come back from the lab.

Daughter fooled by Peterson, father says

"The revelation came during an emotional news conference at the Modesto Police Department. "When I was introduced to him, I was told he was unmarried," she told the media. "Scott told me he was not married."

The Modesto Bee has been unable to reach Peterson for comment, and his attorney said Saturday morning that there would be no statement. "He's not going to talk to you, under my orders," said Kirk McAllister of Modesto.

Amber Frey, who works as a massage therapist in Fresno, also remained unavailable for comment."

Rita also mentioned that the police believe Scott's 'burglary' was done by a family member to replace something inside that was not in place.

Wonder if it was a blunt object or a sharp object.

You think Scott's family is FINALLY conceding that he's guilty and can't bring themselves to turn him in directly? It sounds like a possibility, doesn't it?

I think some of them have to be having serious doubts about their boy. It would be very hard for any family member to be intellectually honest even with themselves about this. If push came to shove one of them might drop a dime on him.

I think that in light of the fact that Mama Peterson is as ill as she is over this, someone in that family that KNOWS what happened planted something back in the house, and my money's on the murder weapon. Maybe whoever coined the saying :The family that slays together, stays together" wasn't so far off the mark...remember, Capano's brother helped HIM too. A blunt object or a knife would be consistent with the blood spatterings.

And to add to the mystery, was it the original article or was it a newly purchased replacement?

So he had a friend or family member "break in" and replace things that had been missing? Why would he want the murder weapon brought back in, though? What other things would he have to put back? Possible something valuable that belongs to Laci and her family, that they noticed was missing? WEIRD.

He really thinks he can get away with everything. He must have been watching OJ on the golf course these past few years and thinking, "If HE can do it..."

Is Scott going to sit around and wait for the blood evidence to come back from the lab, knowing that it might mean an arrest for him? Is he THAT arrogant? Or will he flee somehow, kill himself? Narcissists don't kill themselves, usually. They think they can beat the rap.

SCOTT wouldn't want it brought in, but perhaps someone in the family that has said "okay, enough is enough" might have??

From America's Most Wanted

On December 24, 2002, at about 5:48 pm, the Modesto Police received a call stating that Laci Denise Peterson had not been seen since 9:30 am that day. Scott Peterson says that his pregnant wife, Laci, planned to shop for dinner and walk their dog at East La Loma Park, also known as Dry Creek Park. Scott says he left home at 9:30 am and went to his office to do a few hours of work. He kept a 14-foot aluminum boat stored at his office and after working decided to hook it up and take a short fishing trip in the San Francisco Bay.He says he tried to call Laci from his cell phone during the day but could not reach her. When he arrived home later that afternoon, he found his dog in the back yard with the leash still attached. There was nothing unusual found in the house to indicate anything had happened. Laci's purse was in the house and her car was in the driveway. Scott and family members began searching the park and called the Modesto Police. Modesto Police began a search of the park and the Dry Creek area. Over the next couple of weeks police used water rescue units, canines and equestrian teams to search in Modesto and neighboring counties. Police also conducted extensive searches near the Berkeley Marina and in the San Francisco Bay where Scott said he went fishing, but found nothing. Scott was able to provide police with a parking receipt from the Berkeley Marina, however it does not list entry or exit times. Initially, both Laci and Scott's families insisted that Scott had no involvement in her disappearance. On January 15, 2003, Modesto Police met with Laci's family and informed them that Scott was having an affair with a woman who lives in the Fresno area. They showed the family a photo of Scott posing with the woman that was dated mid-December, a day that he told Laci he was away on a business trip. Laci's brother, Brent, says that Scott later admitted to this and other affairs. Laci's family cut off communication with Scott and they say he initially lied to them about the affair and possibly other things. They say that Scott's demeanor in the last couple of weeks has been unusual in that he has been playing golf, disappearing for lengthy periods of time, hired a defense attorney, has not been open with them, and met with a realtor about selling the house. Police have not named Scott a suspect.
