Howdy, my FRiend...I'm reading a book about Mark Twain and noticed a quote that I found enlightening:

"Ours is a useful trade, a worthy calling: with all its lightness and frivolity it has one serious purpose, one aim, one specialty, and it is constant to it--the deriding of shams, the exposure of pretentious falsities, the laughing of stupid superstitions out of existence, and that whoso is by instinct engaged in this sort of warfare is the natural enemy of royalties, nobilities, privileges and all kindred swindles, and the natural friend of human rights and human liberties."
--Mark Twain

The "trade" he is speaking of is of course the Media...MUD

"Expand the Patriot Act or NO?!"

"The Justice Department is preparing to expand the 2001 Patriot Act to increase surveillance within the United States while restricting access to information and limiting judicial review, a nonprofit government watchdog group asserted Friday. The Center for Public Integrity said it obtained a copy of the draft legislation from a government source. The document, labeled "confidential," was posted Friday on the organization's Internet site along with an analysis."

I REFUSE to trust a WORD uttered by this LeftWingWhacko group, but I have no doubt that the Patriot Act will be reformed in the upcoming months and years, and it is incumbent upon all Patriotic Americans to see that the Justice Department does not overdue it any more than it already has.

"Justice Department officials said no final decisions have made on any such legislation, and it could change substantially before it is completed. Spokeswoman Barbara Comstock acknowledged the department is "continually considering anti-terrorism measures and would be derelict if we were not doing so."

Good fer them...however, John Ashcroft and his minions had best concentrate on enforcing the Laws on the Books before asking for yet more police powers, IMHO!! RadicalRightWing Libertarians are watching these incursions into our Civil Liberties every bit as close as these Socialist morons are, and we're expecting the Patriot Act to be rescinded within the next few years or else...MUD
