Yes, I read that too, but I think it was a typo. I distinctly heard her, in her statement, say that she was told he was unmarried, and that also he later "confirmed" that he was "unmarried."

Okay, that's two of you heard it; then the printed version is wrong; I must defer to you ear-witnesses because, as I already said, I, of course, somehow managed to fall asleep for just the few minutes I was most especially wanting to stay awake and then missed the gosh darn news conference.

However, the print version....makes it seem less a typo and more a complete mistake in the entire sentence....how can this be?
