According to Richard Hoagland on Coast to Coast with George Noory, President Bush is waiting to hear from us if we want nuclear power to be used for space propulsion.
LINK TO THE WEBSITE.
The project is called Prometheus, and it will send a manned mission to Mars. Go check out the site. There is an e-mail link to let the president know what you think. According to Hoagland, he is waiting to hear from us. If they get enough popular response, Hoagland says it will be included in the State of the Union Address.

Sure. Send an unmanned nuclear rocket to Mars first. If it makes it, great. If not, have it re-enter over France.

Seems any use for nuke power that is not the evil bomb would be good. And maybe we could get a few more power plants. Do they have cable on Mars? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Nay, why contaminate Mars with nuclear waste?
First send it to France and study the ecological impact.

Why should I care what they use to get to Mars?
Why should Bush care about whacko Hoagland's poll?
To: Deathmonger
Maybe you shouldn't care. For the rest of us, chemical power has limitations and nuclear is the future for longer distance manned flight.
Hoagland said that the White House has put out a trial balloon about this. If enough favorable response comes in, he is prepared to make an announcement of the most ambitious space program since landing a man on the moon.

First clue that this is bogus is that Hoagland is involved.
Seen any faces on Mars lately? :)
