This would be a good daily post.

And now for tomorrows weather for Baghdad, Iraq. Partly cloudy, with lows of 48F, and highs of 4,500F, winds gusting at 150mph, becoming overcast and radioactive later in the day.
To: Dec31,1999
Good idea.. I was looking for something to do after the FReepathon ended. ;-)

Excellent weather. Wouldn't you say?
Thanks for the post.
To: NormsRevenge
Sounds like a great idea, as folks like to talk about the weather before they go on to politics. Got ping lists?
To: Dec31,1999
No, I have no Ping list. I rely on the generosity of others and their pingers.
I may just do daily regional updates or something for now on this thread.. , local satellite shots, HIs and LOs in Qatar, Djibouti, Baghdad.. that kind of stuff, an occasional weaponry shot thrown in for effect.
Ping away if you like. It's a long time 'til the neXt FReepathon,, Maybe Never Again... if we're really lucky... ;-)

Now that is a neat 5 day calendar.
How you doing that?
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Reverse engineering 8-) ... I just grab the source code, substituted some smaller images I find off of GooGle search in the existing table entries and resize somewhat accordingly, preview it a few times and then let it rip. It's a quick easy way to add a little punch to the forecast.
It's 68 degrees in the backyard, sun is shining.. How's your end doing?

Coachella Valley shakin' it here boss.....unbelievable; got up at 0530 to 70 degrees (it's been running low 50's at night), and it's still just over 85. There ARE a few good thangs about Kalifornia!

Got to read my instructions:
Prune hybrid teas, grandifloras and floribundas as the buds begin to swell in late winter to early spring. |
Plant bare root roses before they break dormancy. |
Start a regular spraying program to control black spot and other rose maladies as soon as the leaves emerge. |
Prune roses back to about 12 inches in early spring. |
Start a spray program for black spot and powdery mildew on roses at bud break and continue throughout the growing season. |
Plant container roses in spring. |
Scout roses for rust during spring and fall. |
Start scouting roses for leafhoppers in the spring. |
Scout roses for leafrollers during the spring. |
Prune dead or diseased rose stems as soon as damage is noticed to prevent disease from spreading to healthy growth. |
Test soil now before planting shrubs in the spring. Remember, it is recommended that most shrubs be planted in unamended soil. So select shrubs that will thrive in the existing soil. |
Root prune shrubs in early spring to be transplanted while dormant within the next two years. |
Root prune trees and shrubs in early spring to be transplanted while dormant within the next two years. Some trees do not transplant well, particularly those with a taproot. Check specific tree for special instructions. |
Plant bare root shrubs in late winter to early spring before their buds open. |
Plant balled and burlapped shrubs any time the ground can be worked, but avoid the hottest part of summer. |

Test soil now before planting shrubs in the spring. Remember, it is recommended that most shrubs be planted in unamended soil. So select shrubs that will thrive in the existing soil. |
Plant container grown shrubs any time the ground can be worked, but avoid the hottest part of summer. |
Mulch shrubs 2 to 3 inches deep, making sure that mulch stays a few inches away from the base of the shrub. |
When purchasing shrubs, look for a well branched specimen with full, even growth free from damaged branches. Don't worry about a few lost leaves, this normally happens during transportation and handling. If the shrub is balled and burlapped, make sure the root ball is intact. Grasp the main branches and gently pull. If they move, but the root ball doesn't, purchase a different shrub. |
