No, it is not amazing considering the mainstream press is itself made up of commies/socialists.
Exactly so. For example, I once heard that Evan Thomas of Newsweek is the grandson of Norman Thomas, a powerful head in his day, of the US Socialist Party.
Not to damn the progeny of the old Socialist, but I have to question how impartial someone like Evan Thomas can be in his own career.
Here's an interesting little bit that just turned up when looking for something on Norman Thomas--seems the old guy is getting his wish many years after his death:
"Near the end of his life, he ([Norman Thomas] saw the McCarthy Era and poor showings in Presidential elections (only 2,044 in 1956) rip the Socialist Party apart. He became one of the supporters of a plan to end the SP's third-party campaigns and instead support progressive Democrats. He hoped that the Democratic Party would eventually turn socialist, with the Socialist Party serving a role like the British Fabian Society."
