Didn't the Soviets raise this practice to an art?

The famous KGB "honey trap".

filmed in a compromising situation

Doing what? I can't imagine.

Shoplifting perhaps? Running an Iraqi stop sign?

Oh what oh what could it be?

This from Lucianne's site today in her short takes: "It's being suggested in intelligence circles that Saddam's secret police have a drawer full of tapes and photos collected when he was "in country."

And Scottie was "in country" for seven years -- not counting his subsequent, all-expenses paid trips to direct an anti-US propaganda film and address the Iraqi National Assembly.

Are you being investigated for espionage?

I've been called a spy of Israel since 1996, and since I made my documentary film in 2000 the FBI has investigated me as an agent of Iraq. The FBI has also opened up an investigation into my wife calling her a KGB spy. So there is this form of harassment taking place.

Did you write a report, at the time you were doing inspections in Votkinsk in the Soviet Union in 1988 that said the group your wife worked for was full of spies?

No. I indicated that given past models of Soviet penetration techniques that these young girls, of which my wife was one, who were brought in by the Soviets to carry out translation services had been used in the past to attempt sexual compromise. I subsequently wrote a series of reports that said this did not appear to be the case in Votkinsk. In fact, because of the human intelligence work I did in the Soviet Union I was able to ascertain that the girls were actually dissatisfied with the Soviets. They showed a tendency to speak out against the KGB to the U.S. inspectors.

Scott Ritter in his own words

Don't believe for a moment that only ONE united nations inspector was compromised. They are all pretty much of the same ilk.

There's no doubt in my mind it was Ritter. And to think the left loved him so. After watching Ritter testify before Congress after UN got kicked out of Iraq, and then do a complete turnaround, we all knew it was either blackmail or a payoff (or both).

If the, as yet unnamed, individual loses his value for propaganda work at the feet of Saddam, the unnamed individual will have an accident that tragically takes his life. Going to Iraq might be safer for this unnamed individual, if he can get away from the media folks and his visa is okayed. I wonder, does Saddam Insane know about arkancide and the exquisite value it carries as the preferred methodology of an unnamed president? Saddam is so primitive, don'tcha know!

I think it's most unlikely Wolfowitz would have said this in this kind of address to the CFR if he wasn't sure of his facts.

By the way, who do you suppose informed the Iraqis of the move of that other inspector that Spertzel talked about?

Aaron Brown told Ritter last night it was painful to ask but he had to try and establish Ritter's credibility on a go forward basis. Ritter hasn't had credibility since he testified before Congress in '98, but the left loved him anyway.

It is a balmy 60+ degrees out here, and you just sent a chill up and down my spine with this reply of yours:

Maybe its a good time to hear Scottie squeal like a pig ! Think about it though. Who better to bring anthrax into the US then a UN WMD inspector ? If he got caught he would have an alibi - 'I was taking it to the US to get it analyzed.'

Just speculating of course.

Damn! I read your reply about 4 minutes ago and still have that chill going up and down my spine.

I have wondered why the media immediately tried to blame the Anthrax problem on some evil right wing conservative as soon as the Anthrax was floating around.

Then that raid in Florida with gmen in bio suits, there goes that chill again!

Don't you think it's possible both that the Iraqis have been blackmailing Ritter, and that he was set up in this country?

Ha! As we all said MONTHS ago.

I STILL want to know about that children's prison in Iraq, though! Ritter, as far as I know, is the only one who has mentioned it. Why the silence from the media? Do they know it is a lie, or did they think that concentrating on it would discredit Ritter?

Satan (gee I wish you would get another name) I think perhaps we have figured out a way to neutralize the anthrax. Either that or Bush has decided that we need to take the hits now in order to get rid of Saddam.

At any rate, the coverup of this arrest of Ritter is what intriques me...and despite your earlier observations, I think the coverup is important.

This means that the CIA had that same info back when this was going on and in turn, the clintons would have this information on Ritter. Thus Ritter going on Court TV and CNN -- owned by clintonites!

Am convinced the clintons knew this about Ritter and used him to trash the Bush Administration as well as the Iraqi's using him through blackmail!

Shame he cannot be a man and tell exactly what happened!

Most likely, they had their people in the US pick up the Yellow Pages and hire a private dick. Or they used their own agents in the field. This kind of stuff is child's play.

Believe the cover-up is the most important and will bet you find a clintonite behind that one!

I wonder how good the chances are that we have now gotten a copy of the blackmail film.

We may not have it now, but we will probably have it after we occupy Baghdad. I wonder how many other Iraqi agents will also be unmasked.

When you've been watching this as closely as I have for as long as I have, you realize that there is almost no end to how long they can stretch this out. The only constraint is that, with Bush on the gas and virtually everybody else on the brake, the net result should be a slow but steady forward motion. Expect more of the same for the foreseeable future.
