Try putting them in a table. For example, using the html:

<table cellpadding=7>
<tr>
<td><img height="120" src="http://www.workmall.com/flags/united_states_flag_files/us-s.gif" width="120"></td>
<td><img height="120" src="http://www.imagesoft.net/flags/flagimgs/austral1.gif" width="120"></td>
<td><img height="120" src="http://www.theodora.com/flags/new12/uk-s.gif" width="120"></td>
</tr>
</table>

will produce the display:

The entire table is bracketed with "<table> </table>", each row is bracketed with "<tr> </tr>", and each data element with "<td> </td>".

Oh - and if you only specify one of height or width, instead of both, then you won't be forcing the flags to be square. Might look better.
