[history]
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Medical marijuana advocates Wednesday began a billboard campaign that features the 8-year-old daughter of a man in prison for cultivating pot.
On 30 billboards across California, Ashley Epis holds a sign that reads, "My Dad is not a criminal." Her father, Bryan Epis, is serving a 10-year federal sentence for growing cannabis for a Chico medical marijuana club.

So what? {Alcohol} Prohibition was on its way out at the time of his election, anyway.According to FDR's policies, the federal government could have continued prohibition, even after it was repealed. All they had to do was place a tax on alcohol production, and then refuse to accept payment of the tax.

You didn't answer my question: So the Roe v Wade ruling is correct as to the meaning of the Constitution?
I never said anything about the rulings being correct, only that they are 'constitutional' for the time being.
To: robertpaulsen
If you're serious.
I never once said that we used Marijuana to TREAT my wife's cancer. But it proved quite effective at lessening the affects of her chemo-therapy. I speak from personal experience....I watched her gain weight as she was able to hold food down...watched my wife become alive again...watched her able to function as (fairly) normal person again. Pray that you never have to witness what cancer can do to someone. And if you ever do, perhaps you will think twice before condemming us.

But, considering the times (i.e. the Depression), I think that may have resulted in an armed insurrection.

Damn you and your good memory. I think you understand the point I was trying to make. I am on your side here.

I can put you on to other (legitimate) sites, not High Times or cannabis.com, to cover specific illnesses like glaucoma, cancer(chemo), and AIDS, and why marijuana should not be used to treat them. Did we read the same report? I checked out your link and the 4th Chapter. The author does not make the "marijuana should not be used" argment at all. If you would like quotes, I'll go back and find them. The position of the author is that marijuana, while not indicated for some disorders such as MS, has REAL possibilites for such problems as chronic pain (no pun intended) and should be researched.
rp you lied, plain and simple. It's all your side has. I guess a little intellectual honesty is too much to ask.

The only laws we have a God given right to outright disobey are those laws that are contrary to God's laws.

"Roscoe agrees that they can be"Roscoe is entirtled to his opinion. I am not falling for your trap. Why is is more imortant for you to trick people rather than have a legitimate discussion and debate? Untenable positions?
"Are you suggesting that the meaning of the Constitution is subjective?"
I am suggesting no such thing, and stop putting words in my mouth. The words in the Constitution are there for all to see. It is the responsibility of the USSC to interpret those words.
Yes, there were instances when the USSC looked at the Constitution subjectively. Personally, I would prefer a more objective approach. The justices can be impeached, you know. There's a petition going on right now at petitiononline.com if you're interested.

Roscoe is entitled to his opinion. MrLeRoy appears to believe that he's entitled to invent opinions for me that I haven't expressed.

Indeed he is. In the thread below he 'suggested' at post #85, that the State of Ca has the 'right' to prohibit guns:

It is NOT the Constitution which requires interpretation. It is the "laws" which need to be compared to the FIXED words of the Constitution and then thrown out when there is no match or no NEED for such "laws."

"The author does not make the "marijuana should not be used" argment at all."Hey, realpatriot71, slow down. I said that if newcats were interested, I could give him other sites that deal specifically with the illnesses mentioned. Geez, read my quote in your own post, and stop calling me a liar.
Marijuana for "chronic pain". That's a good one. Of all the diseases, all the illnesses for which marijuana is touted as God's gift, AIDS, glaucoma, cancer, polio, asthma, on and on, what percentage of marijuana is used for those illnesses and what percentage for chronic pain?
Over 50% pain, less than 50% all others. Legitimate? You wonder why I think MM is a joke?
To: newcats
I never said you did. Maybe you have me confused with another poster.
I was just trying to give you some information on medical marijuana in response to your query. Sorry you took it as criticism.
To: robertpaulsen
No one called MJ "God's gift". Ever been in chronic pain? Maybe you'd understand. No one touts MJ as a cure for anything. MJ suggested usage is for palliatative means. But you're right, the comfort of a patient is a joke, therefore MJ is too.
To: realpatriot71
"No one called MJ "God's gift"."Well, it's a religion on this board.

How daft. -- You warriors are making the 'moral' quasi-religious judgements about the use of drugs.
Most, if not all of your opposition here at FR , protest the drug 'war' on constitutional grounds.
You however, cannot even support the RKBA's.
