[history]
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Medical marijuana advocates Wednesday began a billboard campaign that features the 8-year-old daughter of a man in prison for cultivating pot.
On 30 billboards across California, Ashley Epis holds a sign that reads, "My Dad is not a criminal." Her father, Bryan Epis, is serving a 10-year federal sentence for growing cannabis for a Chico medical marijuana club.

This is a states rights issue and the feds need to butt out. Same with the USFWS & NMFS!!!

If its so much for "medical" use, then why are there clubs surrounding it? You don't see Prozac clubs around town. There aren't any Daily Aspirin for Heart Attack Victims clubs, nor to my knowledge are there any Robitussin Clubs around. Medical Marijuana is a falsehood.

If its so much for "medical" use, then why are there clubs surrounding it? Because it's illegal under federal law.
Medical Marijuana is a falsehood.
"there are patients with debilitating symptoms for whom smoked marijuana might provide relief. [...] there is no clear alternative for people suffering from chronic conditions that might be relieved by smoking marijuana, such as pain or AIDS wasting." - Marijuana and Medicine: Assessing the Science Base (1999), Institute of Medicine

Those are legal OTC medications and marijuana is illegal. Thus, you don't need a robitussin club. That's what the clubs exist for, to provide a source of the product.
To: BSunday
Last I heard, people weren't getting JAILED for possession of aspirin, Robitussin, and Prozac. Maybe that could explain the reason for the clubs ...

find some othe medicine. Is the world so short on prescription drugs? Not all medicines work for all people. If a patient and his doctor decide that marijuana is the best option, who are you to stick your nose in?

Simply put...those other drugs are LEGAL...you do understand the differense don't you?
Medical Marijuana is a falsehood.
My wife (in remission for 4 years thank God) would argue that point. Apparently you have never had first hand experience with the dibilitating nausea of chemo, and how anything...ANYTHING that helps is a blessing. Keep your WOD opinions to yourself.

My gramps suffered the same with leukemia, newcats. Marijuana probably would have helped. But we'll never know because a lot of people are still caught up in "reefer madness." Let the doctors decide.
To: newcats
Yes I do understand the difference. Was Marijuana to credit for her remission? I think not. Go back to the Neal Boortz show. PS I don't know what smart-aleck thing WOD stands for but I thought this was exactly the place for expressing opinions.
