Actually, I think this system works pretty well. The management is pretty liberal in its definition of News/Activism. But most vanities and entertainment related stuff is banished to "General Interest", along with the Astronomy Picture of the Day, Word of the Day (vocabulary improvement series), and similar oddities. The religious rants have been banished to the Religion forum, so newcomers to FR aren't immediately confronted with reams of hostile sectarian theological debates. And the "Smokey Backroom" gets some of the rough and tumble threads on other topics. It's probably about time they changed thename of the "Campaign 2002" forum though.
