Glock........Port Orford is beautiful. How soon until you retire? And are you prepared for cool, damp Oregon coast weather? :-)

Rotti...There is a little mtn. store about 15 miles from us...but the items carried are VERY limited and VERY VERY expensive. We have become such good planners, listmakers and shoppers we never have to buy anything there.

We live inland...in the So/Central Cascade Mtns. Have you ever heard of Crater Lake? We live about 30 miles from there. We have lived here approx 15 years total (2 different times). But when hubs retires (about 3 years from now) we will be moving. So we are enjoying our time here immensely.

I suppose it would be a BIT wrong to pray that when JR logs on this morning, that he will list checks/donations in the amt of PLUS $2,054?

Roseburg--which is about 60 miles from us and thus the closest city. We get up to Portland often so that is when we hit Costco.

Any FReeper or Lurker who makes a regular monthly donation to Free Republic by credit card, check, or PayPal may add his/her screen name to this list by simply FReepmailing the message "I am a monthly donor" to me or just declaring themselves on the FReepathon thread.

This list is completely voluntary. No name is added without permission. The list is posted periodically during fundraisers on the FReepathon thread.

We want to see this list expand until we have thousands of FReepers and Lurkers to make certain that Free Republic, the best conservative website on the internet, will continue to be here and grow. Thank you all for your support!

Agreed! And it looks like folks are starting to get the message - the increase in monthlies is pretty good! I've seen quite a few $5.00 monthlies posted this time around.

Meanwhile...

I didn't think that Roseburg has a Costco, and that was why I wondered where you shopped.

The 'process' to set up a monthly is so easy now..and don't you think that all the 'monthly' tag lines helped too? We're advertising on so many different threads w/the tag lines.

Pete as an "Avid" fan of women's tennis, I thought that you might want a ping, even if your beloved Anna is not featured.

ME!! ME!! *waving raised hand*
I've been to CRATER LAKE!
Where are my pictures???? hmmm.....
That was a long time ago - before I had kids, back in the days of FILM cameras. Back in the days when I toured the west coast on the back of a motorcycle (I never got to drive it).
We got to the top of Mount Mazama and saw Crater Lake, and it was cold, the sun was going down, and the gas stations closed! The stupid motorcycle ran out of gas... (the motorcycle was stupid??)
Anyway, what to do? Coast downhill and hope to find an open station? NO!
Go to the lodge and get a room? YES! Except the lodge was booked..... so we settled in front of the fire in the lobby and waited for a no-show to not show..
We lucked out - there was a no-show, so we got a room - one with a view right onto the lake, so I saw a beautiful sunrise and took pictures... But where are those pictures???
