I like your idea.
I hesitated to comment because, for my part, my neighborhood is so liberal here in DC that my neighbors worry that if I fly my US flag, it might lead to someone throwing something at our building. It's suddenly occurred to me that that's not a very good reason not to fly it!
And so I will. Thanks for clarifying my thinking. Today's thread is all about muddled thinking.
(I do hope it doesn't bring people down too much -- it's healthy I think to laugh at this stuff whenever you can. I know it's not funny but it's still healthy to laugh!)

Along those lines, consider this mock news report: 289 Million Americans Avoid Peace Rallies
Police across the nation estimate the crowd that avoided yesterday's anti-war demonstrations at about 289 million.
Americans from coast-to-coast voted in absentia against criticizing the Bush administration for Iraq's failure to comply with U.N. resolutions. . . .
Police reported no unusual problems with the droves that stayed away from the protests.
I LOVE your news report! Can you imagine a day when this would be an actual news report? Wouldn't that be something?

I'm back, just about in time to go to lunch. :) Hi, Maggie!

Actually, it sorta was a news report -- it's from scrapple.com and, although it's a humor piece, they had a longer and even funnier version of it.
About a college girl who spent the day finishing a term paper, etc. LOL!
Life goes on.
It's really really important to laugh at these guys when you can get in the mood. Some of them are just young, silly, and redeemable. (I'm still working on my sister!)

I need to get a new flag as I gave mine to a little Iraqi boy at the Patriot's rally held last October.

Some of them are just young, silly, and redeemable. (I'm still working on my sister!) Humor is always a good thing. I'm a firm believer in using humor to defuse tense situations, etc.
Re: still working on your sister. There's always hope. I, too, was once a poor, misguided liberal. Then, I saw the light. And finally found FR!

Awwwwww, that's sweet, and it's a deal! Enuff with the apologies stuff!

{{{'pod}}} What a *lovely* hat you wore to the rally! We were both so busy, I'm not sure we ever said hi! But there you were, out and about. Good work.
Billie said "good morning" to you, and in case you didn't see her tag line, it said: "waiting, waiting, waiting. :))"

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Aqua, and I'm sorry the weather made you change your plans for your visit. Maybe it won't last long. :)
