My mom works in ultrasound, and I've gotten to see a lot of unborn babies and recognize them for what they are- babies, people just like the rest of us. I am also definitley going to the March For Life, and I'm bringing 3 friends along:):):):) Anyway, it's nice to see other people who feel as strongly as I do about this subject.
p.s. mom, i'm going to bed now!

Let's see, according to Fox today there's much to be celebrated, abortions down from 1.6 mil to 1.3 mil, just couldn't contain my excitement through my tears. If we lost 1.3 mil servicemen all hell would break loose in this country. The death of the innocents with no one to support them.

This is what we face, from a letter by a man, trained as a family physician, whose website is focused on his abortion practice, a letter sent to a national email listserve on Women's issues in Family Practice (I've removed his name for the integrity of that list). This column, from a frequent writer for the Nation, is a blatant call for active opposition - a coordinated, premeditated attack -- on women who are in pain, and who are the victims of abuse in the name of choice. Although, if you will notice, this woman will not own up to ever having an abortion, herself.
Over the next few days, as we discussed abortion, one abortionist claimed that none of the studies about the risks of abortion could be trusted, because women would lie about past abortions. This same doctor who sent the letter below suggested that women should be informed of and consent to the risks on their health due to pregnancy, which he claims is less than that of abortion. He then ranted that, although he has performed 50,000 (fifty thousand ) abortions, he has never been sued except once for a normal delivery - so he quit delivering babies and focused on killing them to avoid the risk of malpractice suits.
The misogyny and the disrespect for life will never cease to amaze me.
""I am passing along this column by Katha Pollit for you interest and--hopefully--your action, either personally or through the actions of your friends and/or patients/
____, M.D.
Dear Friends,
As the article below details, forces opposed to legal abortion are
mounting a major public relations campaign, "Silent No More," to portray
abortion as a traumatic, dangerous and often coercive experience that
invariably leads to regret and sorrow. They are encouraging women who
regret their abortions to come forward. Those women have every right to
express themselves, of course, but as the Republicans move forward with
their anti-choice agenda, it is crucial for women who have had abortions
and feel it has made a positive difference in their lives to speak up.
If you have had an abortion, please consider writing about what it did
for you in an op-ed, article, letter to the editor, and so forth. Call
radio talk shows where Silent No More representatives are speaking and
give the other side. Find out where they are scheduled to speak (see e
mail address at the bottom of the article) and show up. Be creative--
but if you possibly can, be vocal.
We know that abortion has given countless women good lives --
education, jobs, health, partners we choose, and children when we are ready for them, not before. This is the truth that the anti-choicers want to obscure, to give anti-choice legislation a caring, woman-friendly face. But how can it be woman-friendly to take away our right to decide, just because some people come to feel they made the wrong decision?
Don't let the anti-choicers own the "voice of experience" on abortion!
Please pass this e mail along to as many people and lists as you can.

Because of technology - the ability to photograph, observe, engage and operate on in utero fetuses at various stages of development - people are not as likely to see a developing human as a "cluster of cells" or a "blob."Baby Samuel BTTT! (one of those "graphic" photos)
I can remember a time in the not too distant past when my linking to that photo/story caused quite a stir.
