So, what do you make of the DA firing Cynthia Preiser for her work?

I think the DA is p!ssed for two reasons, one of them legitimate:

Legitimate: She apparently approved the deal without his approval; yet she should have known any case beyond the normal (here el Ritar had recently been caught in a sting and warned) must be kicked upstairs.

Illegitimate: He was a public figure whose prosecution could have built the DA's public exposure --> name recognition --> politcal future.

If she had been my ADA, I would have dismissed her (for both reasons).
