However on Fort Hood we have around 700 FRG's (family readiness groups) believe it or not. Our group is just a few wives that want to do something for whomever we can. We may be rotating carepackages about every other month to these battalions/companies, or may even go by company or platoon every other week until they all have received something, then start all over and do it again and again while they are gone. This is going to keep us busy we know. We are aiming to be able to include letters from proud americans in every carepackage we will be trying to get out.
Another project we are rushing to put together right now as well, is out of all of these letters we are trying to make copies upon copies of them so we can have them read by more than just one soldier, and going down to ACS & the lane volunteer center here on post to distribute these copies so other FRG's can distribute them to the soldiers they are taking care of.. If we ever find ourselves inundated by to many letters (wouldn't that be great?) We would also distribute them to as many FRG's as humanly possible.
So, to anyone that wrote in, or wrote a soldier thru ANY other "write a soldier" program...
