TODAY'S HOLIDAY IN ARKANSAS: Martin Luther King/Robert E. Lee Day

It comes as no surprise that the DemocRAT party specializes in race-baiting and hyperbole. Someone as smart as Professor Julian Bond, the head of the NAACP, actually claimed that Trent Lott, the racist in his view, had to go because he was three heartbeats from the presidency.

Bond, of course was wrong, even though no one in the mainstream has dared to criticize him. Trent Lott was the Senate leader, and as such was not in the line of succession. After the VP and Speaker of the House comes the President Pro Temp of the Senate. At the time of Bond's comments, the person is that position was actually a DemocRAT and former member of the KKK, Robert Byrd.

Now, let's turn to the real subject of this piece --- today's holiday in Arkansas. Would you be surprised that Martin Luther King and Robert E. Lee share this special holiday in Arkansas? Well, they do.

Would you be surprised that the person who signed the Arkansas law creating the dual holiday was William Jefferson Blythe Clinton?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, in April of 1985, Clinton signed into law Act 985 that made today a state holiday in Arkansas honoring both King and Lee.

Let us also not forget that Clinton interned for J. William Fullbright in 1966-67. At that time Fullbright was an avowed segregationist. Clinton even bestowed on Fullbright the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

During 12 years as governor, Clinton did nothing the oppose Confederate Flag Day in Arkansas, which was the Saturday preceeding Easter Sunday.

DemocRATS, shut up.

I'm not supporting Clinton, but let's be sensible here. Lee is a man worthy of admiration in his own right. He wasn't fighting for slavery, he fought for his state, and state's rights. He was a gentleman and a scholar and men like him built this nation. A day in his honor is totally justified.

There's also nothing wrong with the Confederate flag being flown in the south. It also represented state's rights, and it is flown out of respect for all the men who died trying to secure them.

People who see it and scream race are uneducated or more likely, willfully ignorant.

I'm sorry I didn't make my point more clearly. Clinton, the hero of the RATS, the first black president, actually allowed the Confederate flag to be flown, honored a segregationist, and signed the bill for the dual holiday. There is no judgment here on Lee or the Confederate flag. I am just having fun sticking it to the RATS because of their hypocrisy.

Perhaps it will bercome a national Holiday. One year its the King/Lee day, the next year its the Lee/King day. Sorta how they play the annual Florida/Georgia football game.

I know it sounds a little far fetched, but with the Bent One leading the way, we just might have a chance.
