I sat on a jury at a rape trial when I was a 21 year old idiot liberal. I had been indoctrinated in all the feminist crap about how a woman never tells a lie about rape while I was in college. But when I was on this jury and I saw how pathetic the evidence was (it was clear the girlfriend was making up the entire story and that the boy had insisted that it be brought to trial even though they had offered him a deal) and it opened my eyes to the justice system. I can see the reasons why Ritter or someone like him would not want to go to trial. I can also see why a prosecutor would strike a deal because if it did go to trial Ritter would win. I am just saying- this whole thing stinks.

"...I can also see why a prosecutor would strike a deal because if it did go to trial Ritter would win."

How do you know he would win? Are you Scott Ritter? Are you the fired Assistant DA? Are you psychic? I would dare say that there was substantial evidence, including his computer files, to convict. My hunch is that the ADA made a deal either because she was lazy, or was possibly bribed. She WAS fired, right?

Yes, it does, but not in the way you seem to think.

I've been reading your assertions about "leaking". Well, there was no classic "leaking" as you would have it.

I am very curious, indeed, about how this came to the attention of the DA, himself, over a *week* before the story hit the press, and then "only" the Schenectady Daily Gazette.

The story was more than the DA merely finding out about this case and deal, so he says, but that the DA actually fired the ADA, Cynthia Preiser, for supposedly keeping him in the dark.

Yes, something stinks, like why, if what the DA says it true, then the question is why was it kept from him. Clearly he felt her actions were a firing offense. This was then finally in the news a couple days ago and is ever so slowly making its way into the the "mainstream" media.

I say the leaking business is not applicable. A DA firing a 15 year ADA is newsworthy, and the case it was over was newsworthy, yet the leak you think happened sure was s-l-o-w in coming.
