Would those states affected the most be within their rights if their respective Governors enlisted the National Guard for their states' defense?

It will be the ever worsening economy that make Bush a one term wonder. But this SHOULD be the reason.
What will Hillarious the first do?

"
A border resistance had begun that many critics of Simcox's efforts believe will end in bloodshed."
Spoken like a true liberal.
Absolutly nothing is worth fighting for.
Somehow I don't think Americans ( I said Americans ) will go to the "gas chambers" willingly.

Bush needs to get his sorry ass in gear down there.
WTF is he waiting for? Another attack so he can clamp down on more US citizens rights?
IMHO this is borderline treason on GWB's part.
To sit around and do nothing while this happens is a disgrace.

From The Tucson Citizen
1/18/03 -- Cochise Co. --: As some U.S. citizens take up arms to patrol the Mexican border, the U.S. Border Patrol is reporting more armed encounters with illegal immigrants. Agents in the patrol's Tucson sector encountered illegal immigrants with weapons just twice in each of the past two fiscal years. But there have been 12 incidents in the current fiscal year, which is less than 4 months old. Just in the past week, Tucson sector agents have been shot at twice and have confiscated three semiautomatic pistols, said Border Patrol spokesman Frank Amarillas.
I believe this constitutes an armed invasion.

I assure you that something very ugly is going to happen down there. A border patrol agent was recently killed, a couple FBI agents were recently almost beat to death, there is an increase in shootings at Americans on US soil by foreign invaders. It's already ugly. But it will get worse ---the drug smugglers have every intention of bringing in their drugs.

GWB doesn't have a clue as to what an idiot this makes him appear like.
All the air-time on TV spouting off about Saddams "weapons of mass destruction" is not worth a hill of beans. He's shooting himself in the foot by ignoring this problem at our borders.
It relegates his argument for invading Iraq to total bull$hit.
If there is indeed an "alley" or trail used by human smugglers trafficing in "Other than Mexicans", it just proves his war on terrorism is pure unadulterated bunk.
Why spend $300,000.00 per outpost on the border of Trashcanistan and Pakistan and leave our borders wide open to "evil-doers".
Sorry, this guy (me) has no faith or confidence in our fearless leader. He doesn't have the political will or strength to stand up for what's right and secure our own borders.
My vote is going to someone else next time around. Some one who REALLY cares about the homeland.....not just a window dresser.......and a BS'er.

I saw a news report about this very thing late one night on I believe FNC. It was very brief, but did show citizens patroling the border in AZ. I never saw another report nor any further information in the following days. I will bet the bank now that it has been posted on FreeRepublic, thanks Uncle Bill, this will attract national attention. Come on Sean and Rush...jump on this.
To: Uncle Bill
The border can be sealed air-tight in one week with the present Border Patrol and no troops simply by giving them war-time rules of engagement.
It's purely a political decision.

While they are waiting for their transportation, they have food left for the illegals by people and organizations inside the U.S. who are empathetic to their plight. If these pro immigrunt groups (I would bet many are tax exempt) are so clearly integrated into an illegal coyote operation, there is no doubt that they could be successfully prosecuted as accessories in human trafficking and have their tax exempt status revoked.
It might help. It just takes one DA with balls.

Rep.Tancredo is correct in that "something very ugly is going to happen down there." Just a matter of time. Then the State and Feds will respond, But against the Citizen Patrols, for taking the law into their own hands.
Disgusting...

"Tombstone, Ariz., is where Wyatt Earp became a legend. It took just 30 seconds in a blazing gunfight for three no-good cowboys to die with their boots on. They were sent to the Boothill Graveyard from the infamous shootout at the O.K. Corral, forever synonymous with vigilante justice."
1. Wyatt Earp gained his noteriety in Kansas City;
2. The gunfight was in a lot behind the O.K. Corral; 3. There was NO vigilante justice involved. The duly appointed town Marshall, Virgil Earp, and his deputized brothers were enforcing a town ordinance.
