JPSB (post 28) is correct depleted uranium is not the ingredient of Nuclear Bombs, but the residual of Uranium that has been "spent" and resulting in a dense material that when tipped on Anti-tank weapons (for example) can penetrate the relatively softer hardened steel tank wall.

Any retractions coming?

Why do you think they stick wafer plates of teh junk around the primarr in a nuke?
That stuff will fission if hit with the right speed neutrons, after a fusion reaction.
Which is what a h-bomb is.
