Prospects of raising the state income tax on the richest New Jerseyans are getting a boost from three Republican lawmakers who say they'll back the plan if the extra dollars are used to increase state aid to towns and growing school districts.

"Support is conditional on aiding towns"

Now isn't that nice??? Its o.k. to steal someone's money as long as they are earning more than $500,000.00 per year, and as long as it is used to "help the towns".

Next time it will be those making more than $100,000.00 per year, and next time those making more than $50,000.00 per year, etc...

These three capons are perfect examples of the kinds of Bolsheviks who live in the east and call themselves "Republicans".

McGreevey can balance the state budget by reducing the plethora of strangulating regulations and the state agencies and beaurocracies used to inlict them on the residents of that benighted commune.

Like any DemoCRAP, give him MORE money, and he'll just spend it on more state programs, or sate mandates to local governments. Besides, WHY on earth would ANY Republican WANT to help bail out this jerk who contributed to the mess with more political hirings, a State Poet Laureate (Baraka - remember him?) and the resurrection of the State "Public Advocate" a sort of A.C.L.U. agency in state government??????

What a trio of discgraces!! What a triad of pandering capons!!!!!

As I have been saying......as long as McGreevy doesn't tax toilet paper, he's sure to be re-elected.

raising the tax by 1 percent on all income earned above $500,000 could generate $600 million a year

Seems conservative. After hearing about this tax, more wealthy people will move to N.J. and the amount generated will be a lot higher.
