*****
From the first Rebel's yell to today defending our freedom from the "evil doers" generations of Americans have risked and sacrificed their lives so that we remain free.
It wasn't easy.
It never is.
Many will question the merits of going to war,
just as many gladly answer freedom's call.
In the end, many would just do just what it takes to get the job done.
Yes, the cost of freedom is eternal vigilance.
The cost of freedom is fought valiently, courageously
and bravely on countless bloodly battlegrounds here and in foreign lands.
Americans are blessed to have citizens
with rare vibrant strength, steadfast determination
and unfaltering resolve to defend, protect and uphold our Constitution,
and our way of life.
When you see a veteran thank them for their service to our beloved country.
When you see a young wife of a soldier who
has just left to serve his country give her a hearty smile.
Proudly wave your flag
and stand tall for the men and women who are now serving in the Armed Forces.
They are our first line of defense.
Always have and Always will.
