I'd like answers about Ed Rendell and his wife Midge. Now that IS off-topic. The Philly papers and talk radio are deifying him. Yet how DID Midge get that Federal Judgeship and Appeals upgrade?

Blood for Oil. "Oil" has many meanings. Clinton and Team Clinton are big in the real "Blood for Oil" business.

Midge Rendell may have become a U.S. District judge on her own, but it helped that her husband was close with President Bill Clinton, who appointed her. He's also tight with Republican Sen. Arlen Specter, who steered her nomination through the U.S. Senate in 1994.

In 1997, she was elevated to the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

A neighbor for decades, Specter pushed Midge Rendell's appointment through a U.S. Senate that was balking at confirming Clinton nominees. She later would say "Arlen Specter willed it," Specter chuckles.
