I guess I've been around here for about 5 years or so now. Time sure flies!

When Jim Robinson started this site, it was because he was fed up with the liberal media, and how they would not let people worldwide know about the corruption of the Clinton Administration. A few of us, equally concerned, (with great luck) found it fast.

In the early days, FR was a day-to-day operation, always on the brink of bankruptcy. Jim kept on, and we chipped in when it became too much. We knew how important this site was, and is. Sometimes, it came down to the wire, and we wrote checks, and sent them in, as best we could.

Look at it now. We all get our best information from this site. It is huge, with thousands of posters, and millions of readers. Yet Jim still keeps it alive because of his conviction, and he is absolutely NOT making a profit on it. He just believes. As do we.

BTW, did you know that the founder of this site is in a wheelchair (sorry Jim; I know you think it doesn't make a r*ts a$$ difference. Hey, some folks out there need to come down a peg, like I have.).

Think of it! In the darkest days of the Clinton Administration, there was a lone internet site where people with integrity, brains, and sheer gumption could discuss the dangers faced by the US. Not on CNN, for sure.

Earthmovers like Drudge, Ann Coulter, Rush, WFBuckley, his brother, Savage, Buchanan, both houses of Congress (many) check in to see what we think.

The opposition checks it out, too. Like the NY times staff, CNN, etc. Trust me, they all come here to read. Even YOUR post. You know by now how they are whining about Rush? We're next, as soon as they figure out how they can trash this site without it getting a million hits.

I've been broke; I've been not broke. I've slept in my car. I know how it feels to be squeezed tight with bills. Foks with giant bills: You're not alone, and you have friends here. :)

If you love this site as much as I do, please, please sign up for automatic payment of just $3 per month. Don't be embarrassed if you think this is too little. It absolutely is not. You $3 a month folks are our grassroots movement heroes. Be proud. We'll thank you for it, and are so glad to have you on board.

I know things are rough out there. But you are tough, and a member of the greatest grassroots freedom movement in 100 years. Together we are making history, and will change the world, as we already have. The best is yet to come. Would you please, please consider signing up for just $3 a month? Please? You will make a world of difference, to, well, the world. Be proud, and please help out!

I am absolutley convinced that Fox news has a near permanent lurker. They watch for the threads that run...those same topics show up in their shows that night or the next day.

These are topics completley missed by the other networks. I won't even listen to someone who tells me otherwise. Fox monitors FR...and gets some of its story ideas from this site....no question

>>...When Jim Robinson started this site...<<

Extremely well said!!

Your call to donate $3 a month is spot on. I've always waited for the quarterly fundraiser to donate but I think I'll set up a monthly schedule.

I've come here daily for years and if it weren't for FR on September 11, 2001, I'd have been completely in the dark about the events of that day. All the other news sites were jammed and the FReepers here kept all us cubicle drivers up to date.

I honestly don't know what I'd do without this place.

When I became a monthly donor I was surprised at how good it felt. Especially when one of these fundraisers come up and I don't feel guilty.

Bcome a monthly donor and get a free conscience. And when there's enough of us we won't have to put up with these annoying fundraisers anymore. Just do it. It's easy.

Your words touched me deeply. I've suffered two major financial setbacks in the past year and a half and am still trying to get back on my feet. (Went from having a decent career to running a small thriving business, then to two catastrophic level of financial disasters due to a couple of greedy lying bastard partners.)

So although I've been wanting/meaning to contribute to Jim and his cause that I also believed in, didn't think I could. Well, at least not enough to make any difference, so I haven't.

Until I read your post, my mindset has been that I would make a significant contribution to Jim after I got back on my feet and was embarrassed and too proud to commit to a measly few dollars a month. Your post changed all that and I am going to commit to at least 3 dollars a month but shoot for $10 hoping Jim can buy enough "seeds" for the "grassroots."

Thank you MonroeDNA.

I think all those people check in here to NOT see what we think, but to see what we say about THEM.
