I saw a report during the night on MSNBC that said police found blood in Laci's kitchen & suspected it was hers. It's yet to be determined, but sounds rather conclusive to me that Laci is indeed dead & that Scott murdered her on the night of the 23rd. Just MO...

As for Scott having left ASU after 6 months, maybe he just flunked out. If he did, then he'd have lost his scholarship--actually, he would have probably lost it the minute his grades started to sink (if they did). Maybe the family knows this very well (at least, his parents) but didn't want to tell the public why he really left.

I feel so impatient to find out if that blood was Laci's. I realize that DNA testing takes time, but you can bet that the police already know the blood type, at least--since finding that out takes literally only a few minutes.

And I am guessing that it was Laci's blood type. If she and Scott don't have the same blood type, then it would be very reasonable for the police to be going on the supposition that it was her blood--subject to the final checking through DNA tests, of course.

The thing that disgusts me the most about ANYONE murdering this woman is, while the person was killing her, there would be this baby, probably moving around in her abdomen. I just can't fathom someone doing violence to her, and knowing through the bodily contact that there was "someone else" living--and dying--"in there."

Don't know if it's been posted here but an analyst on Fox News yesterday said shortly after Laci became pregnant Scott Peterson purchased a double indemnity life insurance policy, which any agent would dissuade him from buying and instead recommend he spend the extra money for more coverage. The analyst said this is particulary damning against Scott Peterson.

There really is a hole in this theory and that is that in order for him to collect the insurance money, there has to be proof of a death. Why would he dispose of the body in a way that she would never be found if he needs her body to be found in order to get the insurance money?

But then again, maybe he murdered someone and wanted to get out of town fast. It will be interesting to hear what ASU has to say on this. I'd also be interested in where he went when he left ASU.

Lee Peterson also taught his children to golf, and Scott was especially gifted at the sport. By the time he was 14, he was beating his father regularly.

In an early sign of Scott's determination, his father told him he would buy him a car if he could shoot par, never thinking he could. By his sophomore year of high school, Scott was driving around in a Peugeot wagon.

At University of San Diego High School, a Catholic school, he played on the golf team, sharing the greens with the soon-to-be pro golfer Phil Mickelson, who was two years ahead of him.

When Scott graduated in 1990, he won a partial golf scholarship to Arizona State University, but for reasons not clear to his family, he came home after six months.

At 20, he told his parents he was moving out. He was determined to begin supporting himself, his mother recalled. He worked three jobs to help put himself through California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and never once asked for money, she said.

Professors at Cal Poly remember Peterson as a rare combination of being humble without being self-effacing, confident without being cocky.

Marlin Vix, an agribusiness professor who taught both Scott and Laci, said Scott was a ``good communicator, a nice guy, pleasant, pretty sharp, fun to talk to.''

Jim Ahern, a professor of microeconomics, said, ``He didn't hold low scores against you, though he didn't get many.''

My guess would be that this guy just isn't that smart and didn't put all the pieces together. Basically I think it's not that complicated, he's just a monster. I don't know what is required on the insurance policy. I think this is going to snowball in the next few days, particularly if they have in fact found Laci's body in San Luis reservoir. An NE reporter on Fox News yesterday said police found a concrete mixing setup in Scott's business (in a warehouse) and Scott told them he used it to make a concrete anchor for his boat. If police find Laci dead and Scott used concrete I think he will be history.

Maybe. I agree, it doesn't look good for him but there's a hole in this theory and it's the insurance money. The girlfriend may be more relevant.

Then again, she may not be. If he's just a monster, she may also be in danger, eventually.

Containing his wife? Who does this? A good anchor for a boat his size would cost about $20. If he wanted a concrete anchor for some strange reason, a cinder block for 45 cents would have worked just fine.

HOLY ******! I've always thought there was more than one girlfriend around, but I never considered he might have killed others. I remember that case.

They reported on Fox News today the girl friend in Fresno went to police just after Laci's disappearance, as soon as she saw Scott's picture on television. She told police Scott had told her he was divorced.
