What we need is a redrawing of the lines. Here in Nashville-Davidson County we have 10 House seats total, 9 'Rat to 1 Republican and the voting ratio is roughly 60-40% 'Rat, sometimes higher, more often lower since most Republicans choose to sit out those races due to the obscene gerrymandering. The most number of seats we held here was only 2 out of 10 (in the early '70s and again in the late '80s to early '90s when the 'Rats merged the 2 seats into one). We should have at least 4 of the 10 seats, which would put us only 2 seats away from control of the House.

Well, it sounds like Kalifornia.

Your only option... move.

But look out where you go. Many states do have an income tax AND sales tax. You're good in that you've prevented the income tax to this point. I applaude you.

Efforts are underway to eliminate income taxes in several states, not to mention the big move to eliminate federal income tax in favor of a national sales tax.

The Tenn scenario is a partial example of what happens when pols have to raise sales tax cuz there's no income tax with which to tinker.

When ALL Tennessee residents feel the hit equally, ALL Tennessee residents oppose more taxes. The pols don't like that - is it any surprise?

Regardless - be praised for your efforts to prevent your state from implementing the income tax!
