You know, it's funny. I live in probably the only place in the world where a man wearing a kilt in public isn't out of the ordinary at all, but when one of the local doctors- a Burmese guy- wears his native sarong, he gets a lot of stares. It don't add up somehow.

And in case anybody wants to know, no, I don't own a kilt- they're too expensive. Around here, a lot of people just rent them for whatever occasion like a tuxedo because of the cost.

um...if I may...as a female, I agree wholeheartedly...a man in a kilt is EXTREMELY sexy...Scottish actors are gaining greater prominence, and they are by no means shy AT ALL about wearing a kilt to a premiere, etc. Which brings down loads of screaming women...

Not that THAT would happen for the everyday joe, but in my opinion, a guy's gotta ask himself : is he not only comfortable, but is he willing to put up with the attention he is getting from WOMEN...Seems to me that if a lot of guys notice that one man is getting attention because he is wearing a kilt, it may not be such a bad thing????

I dunno...thats just me...

But I have to throw in the picture of one actor that has my heart thumping...and he has no qualms about wearing a kilt in public...and he is quite the ladies man!

The reason is that the sarong is less well known as a man's garment in the United States unless you watched McHale's Navy.
