Rush Limbaugh says the affirmative action brief is not what the speech said.
Does not even start to put a nail in the coffin of affirmative action and instead keeps promoting race preference. Does not know why Bush keeps doing this? He is not happy and spent the first hafe hour on it and first call had to do with this subject.

Michelle Malkin: Queen Of Tabloid Conservatism:
"This teen harlot-in-training, admired by your young daughters and nieces and granddaughters, takes her leading role in the pedophilia chic movement seriously."--Malkin on Britney Spears
"The facts are plainer than the collapsed nose on Jackson's frightful face. This man is unfit to be anywhere near children, let alone to be a make-believe parent of three. In the obfuscatory language of the psychological experts, Michael Jackson has Major Issues. He's more than a sideshow freak. He's a menace."---Malkin on Michael Jackson
Maybe it's just me, but it looks to me like Malkin got as gig based on affirmative action, and after being turned down by the National Enquirer. She spews personal attacks better than Hillary could ever imagine.
She is relevant to those who like to elevate trash by calling it "principles". But that's I'm preaching to the choir here, aren't I?

No--strategery for winning the most gains in this case!

Thank you for your comments. I remember certain "constitutional law experts" opining that the appeal to the Supreme Court in the Florida recount was being handled incorrectly, also. In that case those people were wrong as well.
What I find most egregrious about this episode, as we have seen many times over the last two years, is that disagreements over policy become rants and get escalated to personal attacks. I find it very childish, and Rush does not win my loyalty by behaving in such a way. The constant cries of "Bush caved" or "RINO's" or "Conservatives have been betrayed" are counter-productive. Most of the people commenting on this brief have not read it, but are basing their opinions on Rush's take which I am certain HE based on someone else's interpretation. Pretty slim pickings for starting a rant, in my opinion.
Also, I am struck by the fact that women and liberals are accused of being emotional, yet the people who are most prone to go into these emotional, knee-jeerk rants are male conservatives. Yes, that is probably a mean-spirited comment by me, but there is an element of truth in it. HA!

With all due respect, BK, for folks to be speculating about the strategery it the brief here, without even had read it, or read all the case precedents, or read the filings by the parties . . .
I guess Rush jumped to some conclusions about the brief, but let's us not.

Rush said, Rush said. Who cares what Rush said? Have you read the brief?

You may be preaching to the choir.....but there are STILL some sour notes that need a "tune"-up. :-)
You said: "...and after being turned down by the National Enquirer..."
Really?

I wonder when a certain poster will submit his comments to NRO about this decision...and is that what Rush is using as his ammo?
To: Guillermo
I am a loyal Republican who supports the President. Anything that I don't agree with I state without deserting the head of the party. He is doing pretty much what I agree with, so unfortunately for those who hope for dissension, they won't get it from me.
Now, is there anything you DO agree with him on?

Excellent point re: gender-specific, politically based emotionalism. (GPE?)

Did I hear that when Michelle Malkin was a guest on Radio FR that she said her husband is a Freeper here? Why not ping him?
RADIOFR's UNSPUN TONIGHT, Dec. 10th (6-8P/9-11E): Michelle Malkin!!!

Agreed. I also expect I will get another salvo directed at my defense of the President when he appears. Flak jacket and helmet are close by...LOL!
To: TLBSHOW
Well, I'm waiting for Rush to update his website so I can reference him accurately. But based on what little I heard so far...
Rush seems to have been saying the brief(s) indicate President Bush does not necessarily view race-based preferences as being un-Constitutional.
If true, that is very disappointing.

Have you read the brief yet, or are you simply basing your opinion on Rush's statements based on whatever legal expert he consulted?
