I loved Signs and bought the DVD. I thought Gibson was excellent and the distance and ambivalence of his performance was perfect for the characterization of a man denying his own beliefs.
Anyway, Signs is a movie you have to see at least twice. The second time it seemed like a different movie (Shayamalan's films are like this) and I'm enjoying trying to find the "signs" that are in the film.

Well, perhaps we'll have to give it another shot. One's frame of mind when seeing a movie has a lot to do with one's impressions at the time.
